Hello Duncan
Can you test the message board for one more time,it seems to be working via the network, need outside test done
do three or four messages about anything,i will hope the delete option works so i can remove them after.
http://www.g7vja.co.uk/mboard
i mucked about with some of the settings, rebooted a couple of time.

re upgrade to Rosa
Rafaela would not update,so something is amiss
there are some items i need to backup before i use the USB to update to Rosa
so for now i will leave it as is.

Hi Kenny,
The bad news is no. It wont accept my message. It did send me an anti-spam code, but the message was not delivered. No smiley's either.

Kenny,
This did something strange too. It did not display the message I sent until I logged out and logged in again.
Trying again to see if it does it again. No further reply means its ok.

Hi Kenny,
I thought you were still playing around with things...my guestbook is basically the latest version of your message board...I just changed a few things a bit.

Since we last spoke I have put a re-direct on my older websites (index pages only) to direct all traffic to dbray.no-ip.org:83/index.php.
I am the using the pi's for bpq as before, so the old links to bpq relates pages are still valid. There will be an initial dalay for a few seconds until the pages are cached, after that it should connect a little quicker.

I still haven't heard anything from Fraser about the pmr rig he has to re-program, so am still running mb7uek on the IC-706. I don't want to bother him, but he is in the habit of forgetting to tell me he has done it!

Hi Kenny,
I have attached a link to a screen dump of my /var/www/guestbook2 dir.

I changed the ownership from root:root using chown...probably chown -R duncan:duncan Guestbook2 to include all the files contained in the Guestbook2 directory.

http://dbray.no-ip.org:83/hosting/guestbook.png

I also made the gbook.php and the /templates dir executable using chmod +x.

Hope this helps

Hi Kenny,
Have rebooted Mint, re-started xr32 and can connect to CRCHAT but not HART.

May be a sympton of something else like udp failure. There are no nodes in BRIARY:G4MKI-8 apart from my local ones. So udp links to N9PMO and VE3UIL aren't active ( according to BPQ links table).

Not RXing local RF either...should be 16+ stations in my RF Heard. The count is 0 or maybe 1 (G4MKI-7) as am not long back from the town.

2m TX is sending inet traffic. I have been running some tests.
XR32 dxlist is populated, and port 2 rx traffic is scrolling down xr32 screen.

Could be a tnc pi problem so have swapped all the IC's over....made no difference. monkey

Post by g4mki on Sat Apr 09, 2016 1:15 pm

Hi Kenny,
I am beginning to think there is no rx problem. I have just changed to the vertcal 4 element yagi, pointing towards MB7UH and am rxing French stations on the back of the beam. (or at least a Polish HGV outside Calais via G3OJZ in Capel le Ferne (Folkestone) Problem is more likely to be that UH is either down, or running reduced power. Getting the same result, more or less, using the 706 on the other tnc-pi.

XR32 continues to run well in Mint and requires very few reboots.
I used COW and MYDXC yesterday afternoon...testing after the reboot at this end. I went in via HART.
I will have a look at your port settings.
I am trying to see if my HBXR32 nodes list will copy to BRIARY. If it does I can drop the udp links across the pond.

Re: General Chat

Post by g4mki on Sat Apr 09, 2016 4:36 pm

Hi Kenny,
I forgot to tell you something.   Embarassed  I have moved my xr32 router pages to http://dbray.no-ip.org:8016 and closed my g4mki.no-ip.org url at no-ip. I am only supposed to get 3 addresses for free and I had 4.
I thought I had edited all the links.
The reasoning behind the decision was to reduce cross-linking between my sites. The html pages for BRIARY and its linbpq files are still on mb7uek.co.uk and the corresponding stuff for HMPTON is on gb7mki.
I have also blocked web crawlers on dbray.no-ip.org.
If this causes a significant problem I may have to rethink it.  What a Face

Hi Kenny,
This may be the problem which causes me to revert to g4mki.no-ip.org.

In your PORT=23
IPLINK=g4mki.no-ip.org

Will this work?

Hi Kenny,
Thanks for your help with this. I forgot about the xr32 links when i made the changes. Part of my problem was caused by having multiple versions of my website on different servers. Although a backup is useful, in case anything goes wrong, 'HOME' shouldn't point to different url's!
My routes to you are all ok.

Duncan,
UDP ports were ok,
it was just the change of address to MB7UEK.no-ip.org
but no worries, we are back on track

I have been playing with Sim31 on 20m,
managed about 20 contacts so far although the bands are not in good shape.
using HRDLog.net for the logging, program saves me having to write it up..hi

Hi Kenny,
Mike, VE3UIL/VE3UIM has changed his port mapping to me as mb7uek.no-ip.org (thanks to you for that!) and my nodes table at BRIARY/HMPTON is repopulating, so that is more or less back to normal.
I haven't tried SIM31 but did manage a couple of PSK31 contacts during the week on 20m, all logged in my HRD logbook. I have been using it for years, and it has accumulated 2900 odd PSK/data  records. It is compatible with the software used for EPC,DMC and 30MDG award collecting and well backed up.
The lack of traffic on RF here is still a concern, but all the indications are that MB7UH is the culprit, as my beam is pointing NW, straight at Colchester. Still getting some F stations in on the back of the beam and the odd mobile from Essex, so the antenna etc is ok.

OK on Mike,he stop linking with my XR32 for some reason, think he is back on my BPQ MAP links now he only run BPQ .long time since i looked.

Sim31 is a doddle, you can run it manualy or let it run automaticaly.
i log to my HRD v5 and also HRDLog.net. and the Sim31 program will auto log for you when a new contact starts if you run it automaticaly
struggling to get a contact with Malta at the moment..
RF aprs down here has become a dead loss, got a digi nr Swansea only comes on when he feel like it,the few locals that tried it have all but gone.
makes me wonder if its still worth running it here.
may try Aprs again on HF during the day time see if anyone is still around

Packet has gone the same way, dead as a dodo
if it was not for the telnet users i would shut the BBS down, and call time on it.

Hi Kenny,
Thanks for the reminder re: Steve Morton...hadn't given it a thought....the brain is more addled than I thought! Suspect
Mike VE3UIL can't get xr32 to run. He asked me for my config. I sent him the Linux version and suggested he had a go with that. Think he was running it in Windows XP.
Considering that I was able to connect to hos BBS to ask him to change my mapping, that sounds a bit strange. I can connect to his xr32 via my xr32, albeit the connection is very slow to make the initial connection, but once I'm in, away it goes..c SFALLS....
