Hello Duncan
Screenshots look good.
You must be low on coffee by now with all this setting up your doing.
i have send Jose another message to update his download page again,
what i forgot to do was add the FWDPAR setup, yet another blond moment.
that should be my last update, hoping it covers most of the important parts.

once you have a link your FBB-BPQ talking to each other then FBBTOWEB will
fill up quicker.
it updates by itself,so you should only have the top 500 bulletins at any one time on your machine.
dont forget to get the latest copy,if you plan to update FBBTOWEB and add FWDPAR

Hi Kenny,
It seems to be working as it should. Every now and then I go to my WebMail on linbpq to find a plausible bulletin group and create a new message in my FBB mailbox. 10 mins later FBBTOWEB updates to reveal the new bulletin.
I'll have a go with FBBTOWEB + FWDPAR. I can stick the 'instructions' on my laptop.
Yes, linking FBB fo BPQ32 ought to be a piece of cake. I must have done it a
few times in the past and got it working...I must be missing something.
The notes on FBB setup are still part of the FBB download from N9PMO, which i must have used to get it all working 6 years or so ago.
Just downloading the fbbtoweb.zip from you....

Hi Kenny,
Been having the same problem with noip.com. A couple of years ago they introduced the idea of monthly renewal for free accounts. I have 3, and they don't all expire on the same date. I normally get an email from them a week or so before they are due to expire, but one or other of them manages to go offline on a fairly regular basis. Its usually mb7uek.no-ip.org that goes off. My APRS map disappears from the webpage!
I got your earlier message re:g4fvg...even thought of setting a telnet link up to solve the problem that way, but what the manual says isn't always what happens.
I set up a forward file for NEKPMS earlier and it objected to A in the first line.
viz:

A NEKPMS
P C
etc etc.........
The fact that all my include files start that way appeared to be irrelevant.

Hi Duncan
I dont think the A NEKPMS is right,it has to be a callsign as i recall, long time since i looked at a forward sys
Have a word with Mike FVG,may save you some head banging...hi

i stuck with Dyndns.org, renew mine every two years i think.
same with my co.uk which is renewed every 5 years

Hi Kenny,
Yes, I will contact Mike tomorrow.
When my dear daughter visited us for Christmas she had a heavy cold and cough. Now that she has gone home, I've got the heavy head cold which, as usual has gone straight for my sinuses.
Toyed with the idea of staying downstairs sleeping in my comfy armchair last night, but in the end, grabbed an extra piilow from her now vacant bed and propped myself up with that.
I had to get up in the night for more pain killers but managed to catch a few hours kip. Did wonder, at one time whether I would wear my false choppers today.
Got hold of some Otrovine Nasal Spray today and am now much more comfortable. At least the nasal 'tap' is a little more controllable.
C'est la vie!
Looking through N9PMO's notes, I am wondering why I am using TFWIN, thought that was for the non existant FBB 32-bit version lol!
Mike may have come across that too.

Hi Kenny,
Just waiting for the midnight Windows Schedular to run to see if it produces another new fbbtoweb page.
But bearing in mind that all the bulls in my mailbox are self generated, it may not have much to show.

Hi Duncan
my 7.01.35 Alpha Winfbb is a 32bit version which Mike N9PMO refers too as an unstable version,i have used it for GB7COW since 2005.
only ever had one driver problem, but once i found the updated driver, touch wood no problems since.
re your head cold, not a lot you can do apart from keeping warm and comfortable
and keeping taking the tablet and plenty of fluids.
let me know how your FWDPAR goes. it should generate something.

have you been reading my messages on the BPQ yahoo group
BPQ has had a good housekeeping clear out,i had over 60,500 bulletins.
now after housekeeping i am down to about 640.
have you got a housekeeping limit set on your BPQMail
think its about 60k,but i cannot find one in my Linbpq,do not recall ever
setting one up ??
using v6.0.13.8

Hi Kenny,
Re: LinBPQ Housekeeping: Max Message Number 6000. It is the second item down in the left hand column on the Housekeeping tab - Mail Server Pages. Same in BPQ32 6.0.13.1 Main Configuration Screen, Housekeeping tab...also 6000. John obviously sets that at the default value but it is configurable.

Confused Installing FBBtoWeb 4.0.0.8 2016 version:
Your example in this Install needs a bit of clarification re: use of separate forwarding scripts as per the previous install for FBBtoWeb .
You actually include both methods. Doing it all in Forward.Sys and using separate FWD files. (But you would need to be familiar with FBB to know that it can be done both ways...but not at the same time!)
When I first set this up I used a Forward.Sys pointing to separate FWD files.
and edited BBS.Sys, Forward Sys and added a new FWD file for FWDPAR.
It didn't work.
This morning, I deleted all the separate FWD files and created a new Forward Sys with A FBBWEB and A FWDPAR one above the other as shown in your expalnation above "Now Edit your BBS.SYS.
I ran FWDPART by clicking on the FBB logo in C:\savant\root and hey presto lots of new files were created with the exception of the new FWDPART.htm(l).
So it is still not working correctly, although there seems to be data for display on the new but absent web page.
There is another potential problem for pre DOS users in that you need to go to Command mode to convert FWDPAR.txt to FWDPAR if you use Notepad to create the file in the first place, but it is probably reasonable to assume that anyone running FBB will know something of DOS. cheers

Re: General Chat

Post by g4mki on Sat Dec 31, 2016 9:02 pm

Hi Kenny,
Thanks for the sample copy. My only error is that I have used all lower case letters for Savant and Root in the A FBBWEB and A FWDPART blocks. Otherwise it is  the same as what I have....so I will do an edit.
If that doesn't work I will delete all my FBB and  FBBtoWEB files..BECAUSE, the other version of FBB on Mike's site is the 32-bit version of FBB! In other words, I have been playing with a 16-bit ver of FBB with a 32-bit ver of BPQ32!
I have setup the 32-bit version of FBB and it is autostarting BPQ32 as it should when FBB loads the ports. Having said that I still can't link from FBB to BPQ32...but without a good cleanup that is quite likely the problem.
So will edit my FBB Forward.sys and replace the lower case letters before I do anything more drastic.
If all else fails, I will send the email that I haven't yet sent hi! I should think my Windows FBB registry is well and truly corrupt. Very Happy

Hi Kenny,
Some progress!
I contacted Mike FVG via GB7COW as you suggested and he has come back to me with some helpful suggestions. I have just sent him the details of my BPQ32 Port arrangements, as he requested them, so he may well come back tomorrow. We are both using the same version of WinFBB, so we are spwaking the same language.
The other thing I have done is ask Mike, VE3UIL to re-instate his forwarding link to me as I stopped receiving bulls in my MKIPMS mailbox in the middle of December. The feed is back and I will now have some bulls to play with in FBBTOWEB.
Although my BPQ32 won't connect to FBB, I can telnet from WinFBB through
the gateway to Briary Node and MKIPMS. I have also set up a link from MKIPMS
to HMPPMS to send all the stuff received by MKIPMS to HMPPMS.

What I haven't been able to do is to setup a link from either of my LinBPQ PMS to my URONode PMS to transfer bulls from that source. Hence my request to Mike VE3UIL, who has been my partner since I started using BPQ32.
I am a little terrified of playing with the Forward file on the LinFBB pms setup by Paul,I don't want to risk sabotaging it!
I thought that Mike had stopped sending me stuff when Paul started earlier last year, but apparently Mike accidentally deleted my FWD file during a tidy up.
I have to be diplomatic on this issue!!
I have received all Mikes Bulls back to 16 December to date, so there is plenty of ammo to sort out FWDPART, which is still not showing its webpage.
I completely deleted FBB this morning with an empty mailbox.

Hi Kenny,
Thanks to Mike, I have now reinstalled FBB and it is talking to BPQ32.
I will now have to reinstall FBBTOWEB whilst the FBB mailbox is empty.

Hi Kenny,
If I want to forward from WFBB to you, to which of your mailboxes should I be attempting to connect via netrom?

I have created a 'local' web page in Savant to bring all my G4MKI-14 pages + FBBTOWEB + FWDPART together. Only one snag though, if I  want to use my existing php style sheet for the new pages, I will
have to abandon Savant and re-install Apache. From the Savant documentation I have seen, it doesn't support php.
FBBTOWEB and FWDPART are both working as they should and filling with data nicely. I have excluded 7+ from FBBTOWEB following the advice in the setup docs.
I am hoping to upgrade my noip membership circa 20th January, so the new pages will b available through a link my main site as soon asmy additional host is active. Very Happy
73,
Duncan
